OEE's Current Projects

A Few Current Projects

2014 – GCCIA (Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority)
This project involves the design and build of a native vegetation barrier surrounding a GCCIA controlled power sub-station. Using ecological principals this project involves advanced soil building techniques and water harvesting technology to help establish a sustainable low-maintenance shelter belt around the power substation. If successful the project will be the first of it's kind in the area and will stand and save the organization millions of dollars in shutdowns and repairs from windblown sand, over the next 10 years.

The project is in the design phase and if all parties agree will commence in October or November 2014.

2013-2014 Understanding Microbial Communities Using Next Generation Sequencing, Bacteria and Fungi
Bacteria and Fungi (2013-2014) – OEE Inc. has partnered with the University of Manitoba to uncover the microbial diversity contained within our products. The results from this research have major implications in our understanding of microbial populations in compost tea and their impact on plant growing systems.

2014 – JR Simplot Waste Management Strategy and Implementation
This project involves streamlining major agricultural waste streams generated by the large potato processing plant in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. The project will involve transforming all organic waste generated by the plant, onsite into compost and off-site biodiesel production. OEE Inc. will be in charge of this waste stream and if successful will be the first of it's kind for a large –scale operation like Simplot.

2014 – Bio-Eco Waste Management, Manitoba
OEE Inc. has partnered with large industrial clients to develop a new-age organics waste management strategy. This project will help divert tens of thousands of tons of waste from entering our landfills. The products produced from these waste streams can be utilized for various purposes, including erosion control and land reclamation. The pilot is set to begin in September 2014.

Aquatic Ecosystems Monitoring (2007 – Present)
OEE Inc. has been involved in many aquatic ecosystem-monitoring programs across Canada. Projects span from Pacific coastal and mountain streams/rivers, Tar Sands, Manitoba Lakes and Rivers, Nunavut-Iqaluit harbor and the Great Lakes.

2014 – New production plant Scheduled for construction near Anola, Manitoba
OEE Inc. will be building a new composting pad site and production facility in the municipality of Springfield, Manitoba. The site will be constructed with the hopes of consolidating most business activities to the new site.
